ENVIRONMENT & CONFLICT AT DENKRAUM DEUTSCHLAND 2022

As part of Denkraum Deutschland 2023, an annual exhibition and event series dedicated to social change, art, and civic participation taking place in the Pinakothek der Moderne, the segment “environment & conflict” opened up spaces for reflection on the climate crisis and socio-ecological catastrophes through artistic practices, and the imagination.

The project

Environment & Conflict was one of the core themes of Denkraum Deutschland 2022, an award-winning art education format conceived by artist Miro Craemer which set out to explore socio-political topics and civic participation in social change for the fourth time at the Pinakothek der Moderne.

The segment Environment & Conflict looked closely at the human history of exploitation, injustice, and conflicting interests which are accumulating in the climate crisis and in socio-ecological catastrophes, and in particular in the perceived divide between humankind and nature. The exhibition and event series presented people, art works, and spaces for reflection and encounters, but also for the imagination and its ability to unlock the impossible and release it into the realm of the possible.

My responsibilities

I consulted on the overall project, and was responsible for the conception and implementation of the segment Environment & Conflict. I programmed and curated panels, workshops, and a section of the exhibition. I also created and edited content for PR and communications, moderated panels, and was a keynote speaker.
