The project

The multi-dimensional project was realized in 2016 as a critical and creative exploration of the urban and an invitation for a broad audience to engage with contemporary art by way of different formats such as workshops, artist residencies, artistic and creative research projects, as well as a symposium, and exhibition. The leading artistic positions tackled questions of community engagement and collective experience and still have an impact until today.

My responsibilities

My curatorial and managerial responsibilities included the development of the project, research, the selection of and communication with artists and speakers, agreements and arrangements with partner organizations, the conception of an Urban Design Research Project, as well as the support of the artists in residence in their work process which included several shows and performances in public space.

I moderated artist talks, compiled and created communication material, as well as the structure and content for press and website, and pretty much single-handedly ran a two-day contribution for the CITY IN CONTEXT symposium hosted by the Lahore Biennale Foundation. I also curated the collateral URBANITIES exhibition "Explorations of the Urban".

The project is still close to my heart - for once due to the topic and the questions it raised and explored, and then for the fervor and zest everyone involved shared.
