AN ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND CAPACITY-BUILDING PROJECT FOR WOMEN IN RURAL COSTA RICA BY FINCA CÁNTAROS ENVIRONMENTAL ASSOCIATION
The project
Finca Cántaros Environmental Association is developing and implementing a capacity-building program to provide professional development possibilities and thus increase employment opportunities for women in the rural area of Coto Brus, Costa Rica. The program takes place in the nexus of community work, conservation, and female empowerment. The organization’s location within the AmistOsa biology corridor provides an ideal prerequisite for the program to enable its participants to become community and environmental stewards.
My responsibilities
In close collaboration with the organization’s lead, I worked on developing and designing the program. This included defining objectives and the structure of the course, in-depth research, developing the curriculum, establishing evaluation methods and instruments, creating the project narrative, and consultation on the organization’s overall aims and objectives.
